Information to get started with your training.
In order to be considered for training at International Seaplane Training, a student must meet a minimum qualification* standard. From there, our questionnaire and interview process will determine if you are properly qualified to complete seaplane training. At that time, you will be invited to join the program – where your qualifications and competency will be put to work!
- Private or commercial pilots licence from a recognized ICAO state
- Current Category 1 medical
- ICAO Level 5 English
- Ability to hold a Canadian visa
At International Seaplane Training, our application process has been engineered to be both straight-forward and comprehensive. The application process is used to ensure that a potential student exceeds the minimum experience and qualifications they’ll need to start and to succeed in their training– before they start. It also provides you with the opportunity to get to know us and our program, and to discover why training with IST is the best choice.
To keep the application process efficient, we request all initial applications are made online. You can simply fill out the online questionnaire, available below. It will require a few details from you such as:
- Type, Nationality, and level of pilots’ licence held
- Flight hours
- Your email address

Congratulations, you’re done!
We will review your submission, and If your application meets the experience criteria, we will invite you to participate in a short interview and discussion. This can be arranged to take place in person at our river-side facility, or if you are not local, will simply involve a phone call or Skype interview. If selected for training, we will invite you to International Seaplane Training to partake in our Professional Seaplane Pilot Program.
